UTICA, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Sylvie Najarian '25 and Mila Karimov '26 competed in the 2023 CNY Fast Chance Meet at Utica University's Laura M. Casamento Track and Field Complex on Sunday, May 14.
 
Najarian qualified for the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Championships in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal-record time of 11:58.08. She ran the last lap in 1:27.54.
 
Karimov finished fourth out of eight athletes in the javelin throw with a season-best mark of 30.60 meters (100 feet, 5 inches). She accomplished the feat on her first attempt.
 
Najarian is one of four Hamilton women's track and field athletes who have qualified for the AARTFC meet this spring. The championships are at Susquehanna University on Wednesday, May 17 and Thursday, May 18. Wednesday's action starts at 2 p.m. and Thursday's events begin at 11 a.m.
