WORCESTER, Mass. -- Hamilton College men's rowing finished third in the varsity eight race in a regatta hosted by Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday, April 16.
Â
The nationally ranked No. 8 Continentals posted a time of 6:10.66, which was 12.8 seconds behind race winner and fifth-ranked Bates College. No. 6 WPI was runner-up in 6:03.26, No. 14 Rochester Institute of Technology ended up fourth with a time of 6:14.06 and Washington College (received votes) landed in fifth place with a time of 6:36.36.
Â
"The men had an excellent week of practice, which was not fully reflective of our race weekend performance," Head Coach
James Lister said. "The men raced admirably well in spite of a lineup change in the V8+ due to injury. The change unfortunately meant we had to scratch the 2V8+ from the event. We look forward to righting the ship and preparing for a weekend of racing in Saratoga Springs."
Â
The Continentals are scheduled to row against RIT, Rochester, Vassar and Skidmore on Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on Saturday, April 22.
