SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Hamilton College women's rowing had entries in five races at the 2023 Head of the Fish, which was held on Fish Creek on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 28.
 
The Continentals' varsity eight competed in the collegiate eights race and finished 11^th out of 19 boats with a time of 12:36.37 on the 3,200-meter course. Massachusetts Institute of Technology took the top spot in 11:55.18 and Wesleyan University was runner-up with a time of 12:03.45.
 
Hamilton's second and third varsity eights rowed in the collegiate second varsity eights race as the Continentals ended up in eighth (13:25) and 14^th place (14:07.34) out of 23 boats. MIT was the winner in 12:19.56 and Cornell University was second with a time of 12:43.63.
 
Hamilton featured three entries in the collegiate fours. The Continentals' top finisher came in 14^th place (15:17.26) despite a broken rigger. Hamilton also came in 16^th place (15:23.23) and 27^th (16:42.44). Marist College captured first place (13:57.96) and Colgate University ended up second (14:02.82).
 
The Continentals' best finish came from their novice eight in the collegiate frosh/novice eights race as Hamilton grabbed the silver medal with a time of 13:50.40. Cornell topped the 22-boat field in 13:09.08. The Continentals also finished ninth out of 11 boats (19:31.36) in the collegiate frosh/novice fours race. Cornell was the race winner with a time of 13:59.82.
 
Hamilton has completed its fall season and will compete again in late March or early April 2024.
