No. 14 women's rowing finishes sixth in NESCAC championship team standings

Continentals were fifth in the varsity eight petite final at the 2025 National Invitational Rowing Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. – Hamilton College finished in sixth place out of eight schools in the 2025 NESCAC Women's Championship and landed in fifth place out of six boats in the petite final of the varsity eight at the National Invitational Rowing Championships held on Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday, May 11.
 
Nationally ranked No. 14 Hamilton posted a time of 6:50.922 on the 2,000-meter course. No. 7 William Smith College took first place in the petite final in 6:45.366 as six seconds is all that separated the six entries.
 
The Continentals ended up in the petite final by finishing fourth in their six-boat heat with a time of 6:47.619. No. 3 Williams College was first in the heat in 6:34.260 and No. 5 Wesleyan University was the runner-up in 6:35.292.
 
Hamilton also finished fifth out of six entries in the petite final of the second varsity eight with a time of 7:03.764. And just like the varsity eight, William Smith captured first place in the petite final in 6:56.170.
 
The Continentals qualified for the petite final after they finished fourth in their six-boat heat with a time of 7:04.910. No. 2 Trinity College was first in the heat in 6:43.461 and No. 8 Smith College was the runner-up in 6:50.840.
 
The NESCAC championship standings were determined by a point system for the first time based on a school's performance in the varsity and second varsity eight races. Hamilton earned 31 points while Tufts University collected the conference title with 56.

In the third varsity eight, Hamilton was sixth out of six entries in its heat with a time of 7:52.019. The Continentals were a scratch in the petite final.
