BOSTON – Hamilton College women's rowing had one of its entries finish in 12
th place out of 35 boats in the collegiate eights race at the 2023 Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 22.
The Charles was the first event of the 2023 fall schedule for the Continentals. Hamilton's 'A' entry posted a time of 18:39.175 in the three-mile race. The Continentals also had a 'B' entry that landed in 23
rd place with a time of 19:24.812.
There were 14 other entries from NESCAC schools and Hamilton's top boat finished sixth among those. Tufts University, from nearby Medford, Mass., won the race in 18:03.969. Trinity College was third with a time of 18:07.366, Smith College ended up fourth in 18:17.578, and Wesleyan University took fifth place with a time of 18:20.430.
Other notable finishers included: Bates College (7
th, 18:25.532), Middlebury College (13
th, 18:44.101) and Williams College (15
th, 18:49.735).
The Continentals row in the Head of the Fish on Saturday, Oct. 28. The race is held on Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
