Baseball hosts Trinity for NESCAC Championship quarterfinal series

Teams play two games on Saturday, May 7 with the possibility of a third on Sunday

The Hamilton College Continentals host the Trinity College Bantams for a 2022 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Baseball Championship quarterfinal series at Hamilton's Loop Road Athletic Complex on Saturday, May 7 and possibly on Sunday, May 8.

The teams will play two nine-inning games on Saturday. The first game starts at noon and the second contest starts 30 minutes after the completion of Game 1. If the teams split the two Saturday games, a deciding Game 3 will be played on Sunday at 11 a.m.

This weekend's quarterfinal series winner advances to the four-team, double-elimination NESCAC Championship Weekend at Trinity College. The three-day event starts on Friday, May 13 at 2:30 p.m. in Hartford, Conn.

Hamilton (16-14 overall) is competing in the postseason for the first time after the Continentals finished a team-best second place in the NESCAC West Division and earned the No. 2 seed with a 7-5 division mark. Hamilton hasn't played Trinity since the teams played a doubleheader in Hartford on April 20, 2019.

The Bantams (14-18) tied for third place in the conference's East Division and earned the third seed with a 6-6 division record. Trinity finished the regular season with six straight losses. The Bantams won the last of their four NESCAC titles in 2012.
