The Continentals (18-15 overall), who are in the postseason for the first time, are the No. 2 seed from the NESCAC West Division after they finished in second place with a division record of 7-5. Hamilton advanced to this weekend by winning two out of three games against Trinity at home in the NESCAC championship quarterfinal series on May 7 and 8.

Colby (23-11) is also competing in its first postseason. The Mules are the No. 2 seed from the conference's East Division after they tied for first place with a division record of 8-4. Colby swept Wesleyan University in last weekend's quarterfinal series. The Mules and the Continentals haven't played each other since 2015 in Florida.

Middlebury (26-11) won the conference championship in 2006. The Panthers are the top seed from the NESCAC West Division after they took first place with a 10-2 division record. Middlebury won two out of three games against Hamilton this spring.

Amherst (16-16-1) won the last of its five conference titles last year. The Mammoths are the fourth seed from the NESCAC West Division after they ended up in fourth place with a 5-7 division mark. Amherst lost all three of its games against the Continentals from April 8 to April 10.
