Women's golf places seventh at competitive Vassar Invitational

Strigh '25 paces Continentals as she ties for 19th place

Hamilton College finished in seventh place out of 10 teams at the 2022 Vassar College Women's Golf Invitational, which was held at Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on April 16 and 17.
 
Hamilton received votes in the latest Women's Golf Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll, and the Vassar tournament field was loaded with four nationally ranked teams. The Continentals posted a four-person team score of 336 on Saturday and they were slightly better on Sunday at 335 for a weekend total of 671.
 
No. 12 New York University captured the team title (618), No. 9 Amherst College was one shot behind in second place, No. 6 Williams College ended up in third place (630) and No. 25 Middlebury College landed in fourth place (656).
 
Olivia Strigh '25 tied for 19th place out of 58 golfers with a 36-hole total of 163. Strigh's 79 on Sunday was Hamilton's best round all weekend. Sofia Weinstein '24 tied for 27th place at 166 (80-86) and Alaina McKeen '24 recorded a 171 (87-84) for 36 holes. Emily Moy '22 carded rounds of 86 both days and Sarah DeSanto '25 was one shot behind Moy after rounds of 86 and 87.
 
The Continentals compete at Amherst's Jack Leaman Invitational at Crumpin-Fox Club in Bernardston, Mass., on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24.
