Hamilton College swimmers finished first in three events but the Continentals lost to Division I Colgate University in a dual meet at Colgate's Lineberry Natatorium on Friday night.

Hamilton racked up 110 team points against the Raiders. The Continentals return to competition after the holidays at Wesleyan University on Jan. 4, 2023, at 4 p.m.

Hamilton started the meet with an exciting victory in the 200-yard medley relay. The foursome of
Ethan del Rosario '24, Emilio Vicioso '23, Jack Jee '24 and
Ethan Olivo '26 posted a time of 1:37.26, edging Colgate by nine one-hundredths of a second.

Vicioso added a win in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.41 as the Continentals swept the top three places in the event.
Edward Ha '25 was runner-up (1:01.16) and
Matthew Hake '26 finished third (1:01.43).

Jee boasted three runner-up performances. He was second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.58 seconds, in the 100 butterfly in 51.38 seconds and in the 200 individual medley (2:01.18).

Ha accounted for the other win in the 200 breast (2:14.39).
Nate Hays '23 was second to Ha with a time of 2:15.64. Hays was also runner-up in the 1,000 free (10:42.87) and ended up third in the 200 IM (2:03.35).

Luke Engel '25 landed in third place in the 200 free (1:50.56) and the 500 free (5:03.75).
Jamie Boyd '26 took second place in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.78 seconds and was third in the 200 back (2:02.60).

Matt McGregor '24 captured second place in the 200 fly (2:01.60),
Henry Wiemeyer '26 finished third in the 50 free in 22.61 seconds, and del Rosario was third in the 100 free with a time of 49.26 seconds.
