Men's golf captures Sap Bucket Challenge team title for first time

Aroca Gonzalez '26 topped the 32-player field with an even-par 70 for the Continentals

The Hamilton College Continentals finished in first place out of four NESCAC teams in the 2022 Sap Bucket Men's Golf Challenge at Ekwanok Country Club in Manchester, Vt., on Tuesday.
 
Hamilton captured the Sap Bucket team title for the first time with a six-man team score of 453. Trinity College was runner-up at 464, Middlebury College ended up third at 475 and Williams College landed in fourth place at 492.
 
The Continentals' Ramon Aroca Gonzalez '26 topped the 32-player field with an even-par 70. Aroca Gonzalez, who was four shots clear of the runner-up, has been the individual medalist four times in six events this fall.
 
Billy Geach '23 and Will Whittaker '25 tied for third place with 75. Ben Coffey '23 tied for seventh place with a 76, Tyler Tornoe '25 tied for 11th place with a 78 and Tommy Kantaros '24 was another shot back in a tie for 13th place.

The Continentals take a break from their 2022-23 season until the spring when they will defend their 2022 NESCAC championship team title.
