The Hamilton College Continentals lost 9-0 against Williams College in a NESCAC match at Hamilton's Tietje Family Tennis Center on Saturday.
Hamilton was playing its first conference match since the spring of 2019 and took to the courts for the first time since a dual match at Rochester Institute of Technology last March 8 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ephs were 10th in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division III team rankings posted last March.
Gianni Esposito '24 went three sets at sixth flight singles. He won the first 6-2, dropped the second set 6-3 and battled hard in the third, but ultimately lost 10-6 in a super-tiebreaker.
The Continentals are back home Sunday, April 18 to host Wesleyan University.
