First-year ends fall season with a 5-2 singles record

Connor Griff '25
Hamilton College's Connor Griff '25 lost in the third round of the singles draw in the 2021 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Men's Division III Northeast Regional Championships at Hobart William Smith Tennis Center on Saturday.

Griff was a top-16 seed for the tournament. He faced top-eight seed Zachary Portnoy of Skidmore College in the round of 16 and put up a good fight before he was knocked out by scores of 6-3 and 6-4. Griff had swept his two opponents in straight sets on Friday. He finished the fall season with a 5-2 singles record.

Griff was one of five Continentals competing in the event, but everyone else was eliminated from the tournament on the first day. He had also teamed up with Danny Tsyvin '22 for a doubles victory in Friday's first round. Hamilton's fall season is complete, and they will back on the courts in March 2022.
