Hamilton College's
Connor Griff '25 advanced to the third round of the singles draw in the 2021 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Men's Division III Northeast Regional Championships at the Hobart William Smith Tennis Center on Friday.
Griff is one of five Continentals competing in the tournament this weekend. Griff, who is a top-16 seed in the singles draw, improved his record to 5-1 this fall. He will face top-eight seed Zachary Portnoy of Skidmore College in the third round on Saturday morning.
Griff defeated New Jersey City University's Alejandro Ley, 6-3, 6-3 in the first round and cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 victory over University of Rochester's Kai Yuminaga in the second round. Griff paired up with
Danny Tsyvin '22 in the doubles draw and they breezed to an 8-1 triumph over Ramapo College's Siddharth Bryeddy and Kenny Elliott in the first round. The duo dropped an 8-4 decision against The College of New Jersey's (TCNJ) Nick Matkiwsky and Akul Telluri in the second round. Tsyvin has 20 career doubles wins.

Joe Reiner '22 fell in straight sets against top-eight seed Krish Vennam of Rochester.
Brian Wang '24 lost 7-5, 6-1 against TCNJ's Adrian Tsui and
Nicolas Gritz '25 was downed 6-4, 6-3 by Union College's Ioannis Binopoulos.
