Box Score Hamilton College's Nancy Loh '22 scored twice and the Continentals posted a 5-1 NESCAC win against the Wesleyan University Cardinals at Wesleyan's Spurrier-Snyder Rink on Saturday afternoon.
Hamilton (14-8-0, 8-6 NESCAC) also recorded a 5-1 victory over the Cardinals on Friday night. The Continentals have won three in a row and eight of their last 10. Hamilton scored three goals on four power-play chances and enjoyed a 34-14 shot advantage.
Loh leads the Continentals with nine goals. Abby Kuhns '23 and Maddie Beitler '21 picked up two assists apiece. Beitler has five points in the last three games. Sidney Molnar '22 started in goal and made five saves in two periods. Sammy Johnson '20 relieved Molnar for the start of the third period and stopped all eight shots she faced.
Sam Smith stopped 29 shots for Wesleyan (6-15-1, 0-13-1). Allie Damren helped the Cardinals avoid the shutout by scoring with 3:27 left in the second period.
Michaela Giuttari '20 put Hamilton on the board with her eighth goal and team-high 21st point at 8:24 of the first period. Giuttari took a pass and placed a shot in the lower-right corner of the net from the top of the crease. Molnar was given an assist and now has two this season.
Loh made it 2-0 with 5:00 left in the first period. She took the puck up the middle and chipped it in from the top of the crease. Loh was at it again 2:11 into the second period. Beitler passed the puck from behind the net to Loh at the top of the crease and she chipped it in. Maura Holden '23 had the secondary assist and is second on the team with 11 helpers.
Missy Segall '21 increased the cushion to four goals 4:33 into the second on a shot into the top-right corner of the net. It was Segall's first goal since Jan. 31 and her eighth this season.
Alayna Trice '20 scored her third this season at 9:02 of the second period. Trice's shot from near the blue line landed in the lower-left corner of the net.
The Continentals return home to Russell Sage Rink for a NESCAC game with Connecticut College on Friday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. Hamilton will be aiming to move into the top four in the conference standings and seize an opportunity to host a 2020 NESCAC Women's Hockey Championship quarterfinal on Saturday, Feb. 29.
