Women's hockey shut out by Amherst in 2025-26 regular season finale

Continentals are the fifth seed for the NESCAC championship and will play at Colby

CLINTON, N.Y. – Amherst College's Marie-Eve Marleau had a goal and two assists in the Mammoths' 3-0 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals inside Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 22.
 

Season Update

  • The Continentals (11-8-5, 7-6-3 NESCAC) finished the regular season in fifth place in the conference standings with 25.5 points. Hamilton received votes in the Feb. 16 USCHO.com Division III Top 25 poll.
  • Nationally ranked No. 6 Amherst (16-2-6, 9-1-6) ended up in second place with 35 points. The Mammoths also recorded a 1-0 overtime victory against the Continentals on Feb. 21.
 

How It Happened

  • Amherst scored one goal in each period. Marleau made it 1-0 at 3:54 of the first period and added the primary assist on the other two goals.
  • Cara Mancini notched the second goal 6:07 into the second period and Maeve Reynolds completed the scoring with an empty-net goal with 57.7 seconds left in the third.
  • Hamilton's Grace Puskar '27 thought she had helped the Continentals avert the shutout 12 seconds later, but after a lengthy discussion amongst the officials, her goal was disallowed.
 

Notes

  • Hamilton's Teagan Brown '27 made 31 saves. Brown turned away 67 of 70 shots on goal in the two games this weekend.
  • Brooke Heck '28 had four of the Continentals' 16 blocked shots.
  • Natalie Stott stopped 19 shots and posted her ninth shutout for the Mammoths.
  • Mancini and Reynolds chipped in a goal and an assist apiece.
 

Next Game

Hamilton travels to No. 4 seed Colby College (16-6-1) for a 2026 NESCAC championship quarterfinal on Saturday, Feb. 28.
