The Hamilton College Continentals lost for the first time in five weeks as the Bowdoin College Polar Bears posted a 9-0 victory at Hamilton's Tietje Family Tennis Center on Saturday.
The Continentals (9-2, 1-2 NESCAC) had won their previous nine matches and moved up to 18th in the Oracle/ITA Division III Northeast Region Men's Rankings. Bowdoin (12-1, 4-0) is fourth in the Division III national men's rankings. Hamilton travels to SUNY Oneonta for a non-conference match on Tuesday, April 16 at 4 p.m.
Tim Derby '21 came the closest to earning a team point for the Continentals. Derby won the first set against Justin Patel at fourth flight singles, but Patel captured the second set and clinched the match by a 10-5 decision in a third set super-tiebreaker.
