Convincing win over St. Lawrence for men's tennis

The Hamilton College Continentals won their second consecutive match on Saturday afternoon when they defeated the St. Lawrence University Saints 9-0 in Hamilton's home opener inside Margaret Bundy Scott Field House.

The Continentals pushed their overall record to 2-7 while St. Lawrence dropped to 4-7.

Sam Farber '20 and Rob Dotterer '21 defeated their first flight doubles opponents and notched their fourth consecutive win and sixth win overall as a pair. Farber and Dotterer claimed singles wins at the first and second flights, respectively. Dotterer is second on the team with eight singles victories.

The first-year doubles pair of Max Zimmerman '21 and Tim Derby '21 downed their opponents in second flight action and collected their fourth win of the season. Zimmerman and Derby defeated their opponents at the third and fourth flights, respectively. Both players conceded only one game in their matches. Zimmerman collected his team-high ninth singles win of the season while Derby registered his seventh.

In the final doubles match of the day, Matt May '21 and Eamon Gibbons '21 claimed victory in third flight action for their first win as a pair.

Eyad Nagori '18 defeated his fifth flight singles opponent for his fourth win of the season. Jafar Sharipov '21 was victorious at sixth flight singles against St. Lawrence's Alec Roslin after a tough first set and recorded his seventh collegiate win.

The Continentals host nationally ranked No. 11 Wesleyan University in a NESCAC matchup on Saturday, April 7 at the brand new Tietje Family Tennis Center, weather permitting.
