The Hamilton College men's tennis team played a pair of non-conference matches inside Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Saturday.
The Continentals (5-9 overall) breezed to a 9-0 win against SUNY Oswego and were edged 5-4 by Hobart College. Hobart is 15th in the Northeast Region in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III team rankings.
Sam Farber '20 extended his singles winning streak to five matches as he rallied from a set down for a three-set victory against Hobart's Jonah Salita at second flight. Farber didn't lose a single game against his Oswego opponent at first flight.
Farber and doubles partner Max McKee-Proctor '17 have won five straight after triumphs at second flight against both the Statesmen and the Lakers. McKee-Proctor was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at second flight singles against Oswego.
Lars Scannell '19 has won three singles matches in a row after a straight-set win against Hobart at fifth flight and an 8-0 victory at fourth flight in the Lakers' match. Scannell and Burke Paxton '17 cruised to an 8-0 win at first flight doubles against Oswego.
Jon Cohen '17 and Devin White '17 swept their third flight doubles matches on the day. White was an impressive 6-0, 6-0 winner at sixth flight singles against his Oswego opponent.
Matthew Haas '19 improved his singles record to 6-2 this spring with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph in the Lakers' match. Andrew Wei '20 rounded out Hamilton's list of winners against Oswego with a 6-0, 6-3 victory at fifth flight singles.
The Continentals travel to Wesleyan University for a NESCAC match against the eighth-ranked Cardinals on Sunday, April 2.
