Hamilton College split a pair of matches on Saturday at the 2017 NESCAC Men's Squash Championship at Smith College in Northampton, Mass.
The Continentals (5-11 overall) dropped a 6-3 decision against the event's ninth seed -- Tufts University -- and defeated 11th-seeded Connecticut College 6-3 in the consolation round. Three matches went to five games in Hamilton's showdown with Tufts. The Continentals posted a 6-3 victory against the Jumbos at home back on Dec. 3.
Hamilton, which was seeded 10th, finished in 10th place. Hamilton fell 7-2 to seventh-seeded Bowdoin College in the first round on Friday. Tufts is 28th in the College Squash Association Team Rankings while the Continentals are 29th and Connecticut Coll. is 30th.
Tucker Hamlin '17 won both his matches in three games at the third position. Nicholas Conzelman '20 was a two-time winner on Saturday and dropped just one game at the seventh position.
Against the Camels, Callum Sondhi '20 and Jonathan Ruth '18 swept their opponents at the second and ninth positions, respectively. Tristan Chaix '20 prevailed in four games at the fourth position and Atticus Jones '19 did the same after falling 13-11 in the first game at the eighth position.
Colin O'Dowd '19 picked up an impressive three-game win at the first position against the Jumbos' Alan Litman in Saturday's early match.
Hamilton hosts Connecticut College and Bard College at the Little Squash Center on Saturday, Feb. 11.
