Hamilton College edged Stanford University 5-4 in the 2017 College Squash Association Men's National Team Championships at the University Club in Boston on Sunday morning.

The Continentals (9-12 overall) went 2-0 in the consolation round of the Conroy Cup (D Division) for the second year in a row. Hamilton was 29th in the CSA national team rankings going into the championships and ended the season ranked 29th. Stanford was ranked 30th. The Continentals also defeated Stanford 7-2 at Smith College back on Jan. 22.

Seven of the nine matches were decided in four games. Tristan Chaix '20, who swept his opponent in three games at the fourth position, was a rare exception. Colin O'Dowd '19 dropped his first game but roared back and won the next three at the first position.

Tucker Hamlin '17 won the first and fourth games by 12-10 scores en route to his four-game victory at the third position. Hamlin was one of two Hamilton players who won all three of their matches at the national team championships.

Mark Sperry '17 prevailed in four games at the fifth position with a 13-11 triumph in the third highlighting his performance. Nicholas Conzelman '20 -- the other Continental to go 3-0 during the weekend -- triumphed in four games as well. Conzelman ended the season with nine wins in his last 10 matches.

The last event on the 2016-17 schedule is the CSA National Individual Championships at Dartmouth College from March 3 to March 5.
