Hamilton College defeated Connecticut College 7-2 in the 2017 College Squash Association Men's National Team Championships at Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Saturday morning.

The Continentals (8-12 overall) play Stanford University on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 9 a.m. in the consolation bracket final of the Conroy Cup (D Division) at Brooks School in North Andover, Mass. The teams will play on courts four, five and six.

Hamilton is 29th overall in the CSA national team rankings and Stanford is 30th. Stanford lost 7-2 to Bowdoin and defeated New York University, 6-3. The Continentals posted a 7-2 victory against Stanford at Smith College back on Jan. 22.

Hamilton and Connecticut Coll. were playing each other for the third consecutive Saturday. The Continentals had won the other two matches by 6-3 counts.

Colin O'Dowd '19 and Tucker Hamlin '17 won in three straight games at the first and third positions, respectively. Callum Sondhi '20 won the second and third games and dropped the first and fourth games before he prevailed 11-3 in the deciding fifth at the second position.

Sam Matlick '17 used an exciting 19-17 triumph in the first game as a springboard to his four-game victory at the sixth position. Nicholas Conzelman '20 won for the eighth time in his last nine matches with a four-game decision at the seventh position.

Atticus Jones '19 lost his first game but won the next three at the eighth position, and Jonathan Ruth '18 improved to 7-2 in his last nine matches with a three-game sweep at the ninth position.
