Box Score The Hamilton College women's hockey team won for the fifth time in six games, edging host SUNY Potsdam 1-0 in non-league play Tuesday afternoon.
The game was played at the Massena Arena after compression issues made Potsdam's home rink unplayable.
Andrea Rockey '19 scored the game's only goal and Hamilton (7-3-0 overall) outshot the host Bears 39-13.
The Continentals, who are receiving votes in both national polls for the second week in a row, recorded their third shutout of the season.
Rockey's team-leading fifth goal of the season snapped a scoreless tie 5:36 into the final period. Jenna Jewell '19 and Gillian Roberts '19 assisted on the goal, which was Rockey's first game-winner of the season. Roberts' assist was her first of the winter.
Sam Walther '18 stopped all 13 shots she faced to improve her goals against average to 1.13 (ninth nationally) and her save percentage to .952 (seventh). She extended her program record to 11 career shutouts.
The Continentals now rank fifth nationally in scoring defense (1.20 goals per game). They shut down Potsdam's only power-play opportunity and continue to lead Division III with a penalty kill percentage of 96.8.
Alexa Pfeiffer saved 38 shots for the Bears, who fell to 7-6-0.
The Continentals return to NESCAC competition this weekend, playing a series at Trinity Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m.
