The Hamilton College women's lacrosse team scored 12 first-half goals and cruised to a 15-7 win over visiting Ithaca College in a non-conference game at Steuben Field Tuesday. The Continentals, who are ranked 12th in the latest national coaches' poll, improved to 10-4 on the season.

Morgan Fletcher '17 and Kara Pooley '19 combined to outscore Ithaca themselves; both collected a season-best four goals. Fletcher added two assists for a career-high six points.

Pooley opened the scoring 26 seconds into the game and added two more goals in the first 16 minutes before tallying Hamilton's final score midway through the second half.

Fletcher had a hand in four first half goals – scoring on back-to-back possessions 58 seconds apart to put Hamilton up 4-1, assisting on a goal by Casey File '17 that gave the Continentals their first four-goal lead, then pushing the advantage to five with an unassisted score just over 17 minutes into play. In the second half she had a goal and another assist during a 3-1 Hamilton run over a span of 4:34 that closed out the game's scoring.

The Bombers, who had their four-game winning streak snapped, tied the score at 1-1 on their first shot of the game – a free-position try by Morgan Cadwell, who scored four of her team's seven goals – but didn't record consecutive goals until they trailed 9-3 late in the first half.

Caroline McCarthy '16 contributed two goals and two assists to Hamilton's outburst and Margaret Gabriel '16 added three points, including two goals.

Pooley led Hamilton with three caused turnovers while winning three draws. Darby Philbrick '18 led all players with five, while File added three. Maddie Fitzpatrick '18 and Hannah Withiam '16 both picked up three ground balls.

Hamilton closes out the regular season Saturday, hosting seventh-ranked Trinity. The Continentals have already clinched an appearance in the NESCAC Championship, which begins on April 30.
