The Hamilton College men's tennis team rallied to beat the host Union Dutchmen Wednesday, winning 6-3 in Schenectady, N.Y. The Continentals, who improved to 2-1 on the season, trailed 2-1 after doubles before securing the win by claiming five of the six singles contests.
Sam Farber '20 clinched the victory by knocking off his first singles opponent in straight sets, with the second going to a tiebreaker. Farber is now 5-2 on the year.
Andrew Wei '20, Matt Haas '19 and Eyad Nagori '18 got Hamilton's comeback started by posting straight-set wins at the sixth, fifth and fourth spots, respectively. Wei dropped just two games to raise his record to 5-1 before Haas gave the visitors the lead with a 6-1, 6-3 win. He owns the team's top singles record at 6-2. Nagori improved to 2-1 with his win.
Rounding out Hamilton's singles winners was Jon Cohen '17. He dropped the first set at third singles then bounced back to claim the next two and picked up his fifth win of the fall.
Nagori and Wei earned Hamilton's doubles point, winning for the second time in as many tries at the third spot.
Wednesday's match is the last scheduled competition during the fall portion of Hamilton's slate.
