As part of the athletic department, and under the direction of the team physicians, the sports medicine staff provides high quality medical care for all Continental student-athletes as well as the entire Hamilton community.

All full-time staff members are certified by the BOC and are members of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Inc., the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association, and the New York State Athletic Trainers' Association.

Athletic training is an allied health profession recognized by the American Medical Association. Athletic trainers are responsible for the evaluation, management, rehabilitation and treatment of injuries and illnesses that occur during participation in sports.

The prevention of injuries/illnesses, where possible, is the highest priority for the sports medicine staff. The staff works with team physicians, the Health Center staff, surrounding medical facilities, the Hamilton athletic department and the student-athletes to meet these goals.
