Women's soccer celebrates 2026 opener with seven-goal performance

Cramer '28 led the offensive onslaught with a goal and two assists

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Haley Cramer '28 scored a goal and added two assists as the Continentals cruised to a 7-0 non-conference win against the Oswego State Lakers at Hamilton's Love Field on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 5.

Season Update

  • Hamilton (1-0-0 overall) was playing its 2026 season opener.
  • Oswego (0-2-0) is still searching for its first goal. The Lakers dropped their opener against SUNY Brockport, 3-0.

How It Happened

  • The Continentals scored three goals in a five-minute span midway through the first half and added four more in the opening 25 minutes of the second.
  • Carly McMahon '27 scored the first goal in the 27th minute. Kate Giglio '28 took a corner kick from the right side and Cramer headed the ball towards the goal. The Oswego goalkeeper punched the shot away with two hands but McMahon tapped the loose ball into the back of the net.
  • Lila Sullivan '29 made it 2-0 in the 31st minute on a beautiful shot from 20 yards out that deflected off the inside of the right post and into the goal. Magdalena Curylo '30 had played a nice pass ahead to spring Sullivan.
  • Cramer and Sullivan hooked up for the third goal 91 seconds later. Sullivan made a move towards the inside and sent a short pass to Cramer, who scored on the second touch from near the penalty kick spot.
  • Aly Fernandes '30 scored less than three minutes into the second half in her first collegiate match. Cramer's long cross from the right side was knocked away by the keeper but the ball landed at Fernandes' feet and she buried the shot in the back of the net.
  • Sarah Flood '27 headed in a corner kick from the left side by Brooke St. John '30 from about six yards out in the 56th minute.
  • Helena Crate '28 made it 6-0 in the 69th minute on a hard shot after a scramble in the box.
  • Lydia DeTraglia '28 finished the scoring 1:08 later. Isabel Harvey '28 threaded a through ball between a couple defenders into the box and DeTraglia ran onto it and slid a one-timer past the charging keeper.
