How It Happened
- Ithaca outshot Hamilton 8-2 in the opening 45 minutes, but Peter Montesano Scheibe '27 made six first-half saves to keep Ithaca off the board, including a diving save on a shot by Emile Antoine in the 29th minute.
- Hamilton quickly counterattacked following a long Ithaca free kick with just over 4:30 remaining in the half. Curran carried the ball into the middle of Hamilton's attacking third before sending a pass to the right wing for Miller. Miller immediately delivered a cross into the box for Curran, who placed his shot into the bottom left corner of the goal.
- The Continentals once again produced a quick counterattack just over 10 minutes into the second half. Tracy dribbled up the middle of the field and sent a pass to his right for Abe Cavalieri '30. Cavalieri fired a shot from the top of the box that was deflected by the Ithaca goalkeeper and hit the left post. Tracy was first to the rebound and slid to knock the ball across the goal line.
- Three minutes later, Miller dribbled at his defender and smashed a left-footed shot from inside the box that tucked into the bottom right corner and extended Hamilton's lead to 3-0.
- Hamilton was awarded a penalty kick in the 77th minute but could not convert from the spot.
