NEW LONDON, Conn. – Connecticut College's Max Weiss recorded one goal and one assist and the Camels registered a 2-0 win over the Hamilton College Continentals at Conn. College's Silfen Field & Track on a rainy Friday evening, Sept. 25.
Season Update
- Hamilton (1-3-3, 0-3-2 NESCAC) played a nationally ranked opponent for the second consecutive match. The Continentals fought to a 0-0 draw at No. 3 Middlebury College on Sept. 22.
- Nationally ranked No. 23 Conn. College (5-1-1, 3-1-1), which moved into the United Soccer Coaches Division III Top 25 poll on Tuesday, improved to 3-0 at home.
How It Happened
- Conn. College opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Marco Perugini settled underneath a deflected cross in the left side of the six-yard box and lofted a shot into the right-side netting.
- With 25 minutes left in the half, Hamilton's Troy Miller '28 created separation from his defender on the right side and sent a curling, left-footed shot towards the top-left corner that was punched away by goalkeeper Connor Smith.
- Hamilton's Tobin Walsh '29 came off his line and made back-to-back, point-blank saves in the 37th minute to keep the deficit at one.
- Conn. College doubled its lead in the 52nd minute when Weiss scored off an assist from Devin Kellan.
Notes
- Walsh recorded a career-high eight saves.
- Miller led Hamilton with three shots and recorded the Continentals' only shot on goal.
- Mariano Alonso Mendoza '30 and Abe Cavalieri '30 contributed one shot apiece off the bench.
- Perugini registered a match-high six shots for the Camels. Weiss and Gavin Mpiana added two shots on goal apiece.
- The match was originally scheduled for Saturday but was moved to Friday evening due to the nor'easter heading towards New England.

The Continentals play their fourth consecutive road match -- this time against non-conference opponent Ithaca College (7-0-2 overall) -- on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 4 p.m.
