HARTFORD, Conn. – Trinity College scored twice in the opening 14 minutes and the Bantams defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 2-0 in a NESCAC match at Trinity Soccer Field on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 19.
Season Update
- Hamilton (1-2-2, 0-2-1 NESCAC) played to a tie in its previous two matches.
- The Bantams (3-2-0, 1-2) were coming off a 2-1 loss against Williams College on Sept. 12.
How It Happened
- Trevor Saruwaka put Trinity on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal in the eighth minute.
- Peter Montesano Scheibe '27 made a save on a shot by the Bantams' Cameron Linehan in the 13th minute, but Charles Desautels found the back of the net about a minute later after a pass by Owen Myers.
- Alexander Crawford nearly made it 3-0 in the 66th minute, but one of the Continental defenders knocked his shot away from the goal line.
Notes
- Jake Davis stopped four shots, including three in the second half, and picked up the shutout for Trinity.
- The Bantams' last win against Hamilton was back in 2013. The Continentals had gone 9-0-2 against Trinity since then.
