CLINTON, N.Y. – The Hamilton College Continentals recorded a 0-0 draw against the Bates College Bobcats in NESCAC action at Hamilton's Love Field on Saturday, Sept. 12.
Season Update
- Hamilton (1-1-1 overall) recorded its second home shutout of the season. The Continentals claimed a 2-0 win over Utica University in their season opener on Sept. 5.
- Bates (1-1-1) was coming off a 1-0 win at Saint Joseph's on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
How It Happened
- Hamilton outshot Bates by a tally of 6-5 during the first half.
- Troy Miller '28 received a pass in the left side of the penalty area in the 21st minute and sent a pass to his right for Oliver Mylon '29. Mylon took a touch and placed a left-footed shot on target that was saved by a Bates defender.
- With less than a minute remaining in the first half, the ball fell to Bates' Craddock Bridge in the left side of the box. Bridge fired a low shot on target, but Hamilton goalkeeper Finn Wheeler '27 made the save.
- Mylon nearly put the Continentals in front in the 59th minute after receiving a pass from Zach Tracy '28. Mylon set up the ball on his left foot, and unleashed a shot that clanged off the cross bar and bounced straight down and out.
Notes
- Miller recorded a game-high four shots for the Continentals.
- Mylon registered one shot on goal for the third consecutive game.
- Wheeler made his first appearance of the season and collected his fifth career clean sheet.
- Hamilton played the match in support of the Soccer Against Cystic Fibrosis initiative.
- The Continentals have held Bates scoreless in three of their last four meetings.
- Antonio Mesa and Alex Hensch provided two shots each for the Bobcats.
- Bates' George Nassar recorded two saves.
