WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Two team records were broken and Hamilton College's
Dana Schwartz '26 finished in second place in the women's javelin throw at the 2026 NESCAC Track & Field Championships, which were held at Williams College's Lee Track on April 25 and 26.
Schwartz posted a distance of 42.42 meters (139 feet, 2 inches) on her second throw. She has the fourth-best performance in Division III this season of 43.84 meters (143 feet, 10 inches), which she accomplished in the first meet of the outdoor season on March 28 at Monmouth University.
Emmeline Stoetzel '28 set the long jump record for the second time in two weeks with a leap of 5.51 meters (18 feet, 1 inch) on her third attempt. Stoetzel was also one of four new qualifiers for the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field (AARTFC) Outdoor Championships.
The Continentals qualified for the AARTFC championships in the 4x800-meter relay with a team-record time of 9:17.64.
Ruby Austin '29, Emma Chrismer '28, Nora Burroughs '29 and
Kate Scibelli '26 were the members of the relay that broke a 10-year-old record by nearly five seconds.
Austin made the cut in the 400-meter dash preliminary heats with a time of 58.54 seconds.
Taylor Harris '26 recorded a personal record and AARTFC-qualifying time of 36:45.16 in the 10,000-meter run.
Hamilton finished in ninth place out of 11 teams with 30 points. Tufts University captured the team title with 152.5 points and Williams was the runner-up with 135.
Some members of the women's team will compete in the Cornell University Last Chance meet on Tuesday, May 5.
