The Hamilton College Continentals split a pair of matches played on Saturday, Feb. 7 and Sunday, Feb. 8, and evened their overall record at 8-8 in the process.
 
Hamilton wrapped up the busy weekend by edging St. Lawrence University 5-4 in Canton, N.Y., on Sunday afternoon. The Continentals dropped a 6-3 decision against University of Rochester inside their own Little Squash Center on Saturday evening.
 
Hamilton was 22^nd in the most recent College Squash Association varsity team rankings. Rochester was ranked 21^st and St. Lawrence was 29^th.
 
The Continentals' Cooper Jessop '27 outlasted both of his opponents in victories that went to five games at the seventh position. Jessop improved his record to 5-3 this season.
 
William Gianopulos '29 was Hamilton's other repeat winner during the weekend as he prevailed twice at the ninth position. Gianopulos leads the Continentals with nine wins this season.
 
Atreyus Bhavsar '26 and Joseph Applebaum '28 won in four games at the second and fourth positions in the St. Lawrence match. Bhavsar has 22 career victories and Applebaum is second on the team with seven wins this season.
 
Carlo Caffuzzi '27 swept his St. Lawrence opponent in three games at the eighth position and moved his record to 4-3 this season. Lucas Walden '28 was a winner in three tough games at the sixth position against his Rochester opponent.
 
Hamilton will wait to find out if it is selected to participate in the NESCAC championships, which the Continentals host on Saturday, Feb. 14 and Sunday, Feb. 15.
