CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Bri Rockwood '28 and
Sarah Myziuk '28 posted a goal and an assist apiece in the Continentals' 4-1 NESCAC win against the Bowdoin College Polar Bears inside Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 7.
Season Update
- The Continentals (11-6-4, 7-4-3 NESCAC) defeated Bowdoin 5-2 on Feb. 6 and swept the weekend series. Hamilton has just one loss in its last 10 games.
- The Polar Bears (9-10-0, 3-9) dropped their eighth straight contest.
How It Happened
- The Continentals opened the scoring with 8:10 left in the first period. Rockwood forced a turnover near Hamilton's offensive blue line along the left-side boards. Parker Lial '28 picked up the loose puck and took a wrist shot from the faceoff dot in the left circle. Abby Matusovich stopped the shot but couldn't locate the puck and Lial stuffed it past the goaltender.
- The Continentals took a 2-0 lead with 6:00 remaining in the first. Myziuk started a 2-on-1 break by clearing the puck out of Hamilton's defensive zone. Lilly Truchon '26 skated into the attacking zone and sent a backhand pass across the slot to Grace Puskar '27, who scored on a wrist shot from the bottom of the right circle.
- Charlee Frankenfeld cut Bowdoin's deficit in half on a power-play goal with 2:23 to go in the period. Sofia Nesvold and Bella Mele had the assists.
- The Continentals enjoyed a 16-2 shot advantage in the second period, but Hamilton was still clinging to a 2-1 edge going into the third.
- Rockwood provided some breathing room 3:02 into the third period. Sophie Berghammer '26 took a wrist shot from the faceoff dot in the left circle that caromed off some traffic in front of the goal, and Rockwood knocked the loose puck into the back of the net from near the right post.
- Myziuk completed the scoring with 7:56 left in the period. Sarah Wagner '28 sent a cross-ice pass from the Continentals' defensive zone to Carly McMahon '27 at Hamilton's offensive blue line near the left-side boards. McMahon skated to the bottom of the left circle on a partial breakaway and passed across the low slot to Myziuk, who swiftly tapped the puck past Matusovich at the right post.
- The Polar Bears had one last chance to rally late in the third period after the Continentals took a holding penalty and pulled Matusovich for a two-skater advantage. Bowdoin took seven shots, including three on goal, in the final two-plus minutes but Teagan Brown '27 stopped all three.
Notes
- Rockwood scored for the second time in as many days and has six goals this season. The multi-point game was her second of 2025-26.
- Myziuk finished the weekend with five points. She's tied for fifth in the NESCAC with nine goals and is sixth with 17 points.
- Lial's goal was the first of her Hamilton career.
- Puskar scored her fourth goal and won 9-of-14 faceoffs.
- Brown made 21 saves including 12 in the third period. She's fourth in the conference with a 1.48 goals against average and a .947 save percentage.
- McMahon's two-assist performance was the second multi-point game of her career.
- Truchon and Wagner collected an assist for the second straight game.
- The Continentals won 33-of-52 faceoffs, led by Grace Crowley '26, who won 13-of-18.
- Hamilton has won six straight meetings with the Polar Bears.
- The Continentals improved to 9-1 at Sage Rink.
