BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin College's Michael Dinges scored with 54 seconds to go in the third period and propelled the Polar Bears to a 2-1 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals inside Bowdoin's Sidney J. Watson Arena on Friday night, Feb. 6.
Season Update
- Both losses for nationally ranked No. 2 Hamilton (15-2-2, 11-1-1 NESCAC) have come on the road against ranked opponents.
- The 12th-ranked Polar Bears (13-5-1, 9-3-1) continued their hot streak, winning for the fifth time in their last six games.
How It Happened
- With less than a minute to go, Will Killoran fired a shot from the blue line that Dinges redirected with his stick, popping the puck up and over the head of goaltender Aksel Reid '27.
- Just one goal was scored in each period. Bowdoin took advantage of a power play midway through the first. Justin Wright slid a pass down low to Louie Marcellino who skated toward the goal and rifled a shot that bounced off the bottom of the cross bar and into the back of the net 7:44 into the period.
- The Continentals drew even with 12:31 remaining in the second period on a power-play goal. Justin Biraben '27 fired a shot from the blue line and, with the puck bouncing around in front of the net, Alex Danis '26 poked it in.
- At 12:56 of the third period, the Polar Bears received a penalty for slashing. Devon de Vries '27 had an opportunity during the power-play chance, but his straight-on shot was saved by goaltender Jacob Osborne (25 saves). Hamilton also had a 5-on-4 advantage for the last two minutes of the second and first three minutes of the third after Bowdoin received a major penalty, but came up empty.

- Danis scored his fifth goal of the season.
- Biraben registered his ninth assist this season and the 33rd of his career.
- Ryan Sordillo '27 recorded his ninth assist of 2025-26 and his 25th career point.
- Reid turned away 23 shots including 10 in the first period.
- Hamilton won 31-of-53 faceoffs with center Jackson Krock '26 (12-of-18) leading the way.
- Both teams scored on the power play with the Continentals going 1-for-4 and Bowdoin going 1-for-3. Hamilton's penalty kill is 47-for-50 (94%) this season.
- Hamilton held a slight edge for both shots (47-44) and shots on goal (26-25).
