Eight from football named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Haley ’27, Hoag ’27, Kearns ’28, Kurzum ’27, Luce ’26, Smart ’28, Wildman ’27 and Young ’26 are the honorees

Eight Hamilton College student-athletes have been recognized on the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Football Team, which is selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

The team honors the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Gannon Haley '27, Jack Hoag '27, Matthew Kearns '28, Luke Kurzum '27, James Luce '26, Tani Smart '28, Nate Wildman '27 and John Young '26 were each named to the CSC Academic All-District® Team for Division III.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Haley played in all nine games at linebacker, compiling 28 total tackles, including 12 solo tackles. He recorded a season-high seven tackles during a win over Bowdoin on Sep. 27.

Hoag played in all nine games, tallying 32 receptions for 376 yards and three touchdowns. He made a season-high 12 catches for 115 yards at Colby on Oct. 25, then followed that up with nine catches for a season-high 119 yards and a touchdown against Middlebury on Nov. 1.

Kearns also played in all nine games at wide receiver and led the team in receiving yards (456) and receiving touchdowns (4). After posting a 100-yard receiving game at Amherst on Sep. 20, he hauled in four catches for a season-high 137 yards and two touchdowns during the win over Bowdoin on Sep. 27.

Kurzum played all nine games at quarterback and set a program record with 2,566 yards of total offense, including 2,242 passing yards. He led the NESCAC in total offense with 285.1 yards per game and totaled 14 touchdown passes on the year.

Luce started all nine games on the offensive line.

Smart played in all nine games at defensive back, recording 18 total tackles, including 13 solo tackles. He tallied four tackles at Amherst on Sep. 20, and at Wesleyan on Oct. 4. He contributed two tackles and a forced fumble at Colby on Oct. 25.

Wildman played in all nine games this season, totaling 147 rushing yards with two rushing touchdowns in addition to 140 receiving yards on 24 receptions. He recorded a season-high 37 receiving yards against Middlebury on Nov. 1, then produced a season-high 48 rushing yards with a touchdown during a 24-21 win at Bates on Nov. 8.

Young played in all nine games at linebacker, recording 59 total tackles, and was tied for the team lead in solo tackles with 35. He made a season-high 11 tackles, including one tackle for loss during the win over Bowdoin on Sep. 27. He registered 10 tackles against Middlebury on Nov. 1, then grabbed his first career interception during the win at Bates in the season finale on Nov. 8.
