Hamilton College linebacker John Young '26 (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus HS) was selected the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Football Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, Nov. 10 when the conference recognized its weekly award winners.
 
Young collected the award for the second time this year. He led the Continentals with five tackles, including one for a loss of two yards, and added an interception and a quarterback hurry in their 24-21 win at Bates College on Nov. 8. Young's pick at the Hamilton 33 with 10:22 left in the fourth quarter came with the Continentals clinging to a 17-14 lead and set up their last touchdown. It was the first interception of his career.
 
Young ended up tied for 12^th in the NESCAC with 59 tackles for 2-7 Hamilton. He finished the season with four tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries, two pass breakups and one blocked kick.
