CLINTON, N.Y. – Amherst College's Mia Raven totaled five points via two goals and three assists in the Mammoths' 12-9 NESCAC win over the Hamilton College Continentals at Hamilton's Steuben Field on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 28

How It Happened
- Hamilton jumped out to a 2-0 lead with 8:12 remaining in the first quarter. After a close-range shot by Grace MacLean '29 was saved by Amherst's Lily Samoska with just over 10:30 left, Michaela Scannevin '27 picked up the ground ball, avoided a group of Mammoth defenders and fired a shot into the bottom left corner of the net to register her first goal as a Continental and the team's first of the season.
- Maddigan Leifer '26 initiated a fast break opportunity following an Amherst turnover on a clear attempt with 8:25 left and sent a pass to her left for Sophia Wright '28. Wright found Lauren Garringer '29 open at the doorstep, and Garringer placed her shot around the goalkeeper to record her first collegiate goal.
- Amherst's Kate Becker assisted Emily Petersen on goals with 4:56 and 2:24 remaining in the first to tie the game at 2-2.
- Amherst scored four straight to begin the second quarter, including back-to-back woman-up goals following a Hamilton non-releasable yellow card for a 6-2 advantage with 5:25 left.
- Hamilton responded with three unanswered over the next 5:12 of game time. MacLean scored her first career goal on an assist from Natalie Mascitti '29 with 13 seconds remaining to trim the deficit to 6-5.
- Amherst controlled the ensuing draw and Bridget Darcy scored at the other end with an assist from Raven and the Mammoths held a 7-5 advantage at halftime.
- Mascitti made a move past her defender and scored from straight on with 13:11 left in the third to once again make it a one-goal game.
- The Mammoths then scored three straight with the help of two goals by Raven and a woman-up goal by Darcy to extend their lead to 10-6 with 3:37 left.
- Leifer scored a free-position goal with 1:28 remaining and cut the deficit to 10-7 heading into the fourth.
- Kristin Vosswinkel '27 accepted a long pass near midfield with 14:00 left in the fourth, raced into the Hamilton offensive end, spun away from a defender and ripped a shot into the bottom right corner of the goal for her second of the contest. Wright then scored her first goal of the season with 5:48 left and made it 10-9.
- Amherst's Clara Sosa responded with a goal just 25 seconds later, then found the back of the net once again at the 3:28 mark to make it 12-9.

- Wright finished with a team-high and career-high three points on one goal and a career-high two assists.
- Vosswinkel scored a team-high and career-high two goals on four shots and added three ground balls.
