CLINTON, N.Y. – Tufts University's Maiwenn Kamdje totaled a game-high 14 kills and the Jumbos registered a 3-0 NESCAC win over the Hamilton College Continentals at Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Friday evening, Oct. 2.
Season Update
- Hamilton (5-4, 1-3 NESCAC) played its first home game of the season following an eight-game road swing.
- Tufts (10-5, 2-1) improved to 5-1 in road games.
How It Happened
- The first set featured 10 ties. Tufts built a 19-15 lead, but Hamilton scored four straight, capped by an ace from Grace Seaman '29, to tie the match at 19-19. Tufts responded with three consecutive points, and then grabbed a 24-22 lead, but Hamilton once again battled to tie the game at 24-24. Tufts' Tess Fergusson and Celina Savage both recorded a kill and the Jumbos took set one, 26-24
- Tufts carried its momentum into the second set, opening with a 5-0 run. The Continentals worked to close the gap, but the Jumbos maintained their lead and collected a 25-16 win. Ayzlinn Trefren '28 led the Continentals with four kills during the set.
- Tufts established a 15-5 advantage in the third set, but Hamilton trimmed the deficit with four straight points, including two kills by Kathryn Fox '27. After a Trefren ace once again cut the deficit to six at 17-11, Tufts pushed their lead back to ten with a 4-0 burst. Claire Castor recorded the final kill for the Jumbos as they claimed a 25-14 win to clinch the match.

- Trefren recorded double-digit kills for the sixth time this season. She added nine digs and one ace.
- Mia Jessen '28 recorded a team-high 13 digs for the Continentals.
- Lucy Proud '29 distributed a team-high 13 assists.
- Rebecca McCloskey '30 and Fox added five kills each.
- Castor finished with nine kills and three aces.
- Rianna Liu tallied 23 assists and 12 digs.
