Another 1-0 win for women's hockey, Porter '28 scores in second period

Sheridan '26 posted her third shutout in six starts by making 14 saves

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Jamie Porter '28 scored early in the second period and Evie Sheridan '26 made 14 saves in the Continentals' 1-0 NESCAC win against the Connecticut College Camels inside Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 24.

Season Update

  • The Continentals (9-5-3, 5-3-2 NESCAC) defeated Conn. College by the same score on Jan. 23. Hamilton, which is unbeaten in its last six games, improved to 7-1-0 at home this season.
  • The Camels (6-8-2, 2-7-1) extended their losing skid to four contests. They didn't score in any of those games.

How It Happened

  • The Continentals held a 9-5 shot advantage during a scoreless first period.
  • Hamilton potted the only goal of the day 2:20 into the second period. Cuora Sullivan '26 skated with the puck all the way from the Continentals' defensive zone into the left faceoff circle in the attacking zone. Sullivan put a backhand shot on net and goaltender Devon Galizio turned it aside. Sullivan picked up the puck behind the net and sent a backhand pass towards the low slot where Porter whacked a one-timer past Galizio.
  • Conn. College put four shots on goal during a power play later in the second and added another during a power-play chance early in the third period. The Camels' Casey Chesner hit the crossbar a little less than three minutes into the third and only a few seconds after their power play ended.
  • Conn. College pulled Galizio for a sixth skater with 90 seconds left but the move didn't generate any shot attempts. The Camels finished the period with just two shots on goal.

Notes

  • Porter scored her third goal this season. The game-winner was her first of 2025-26.
  • Sullivan, who didn't play until January due to injury, has five assists in nine games. She also blocked three shots.
  • Sophie Berghammer '26 – paired on the same defensive line with Sullivan – collected her fourth assist.
  • Sheridan posted her third shutout in six starts. She has a 1.67 goals against average and .929 save percentage with 131 stops.
  • The Continentals killed both of their penalties. Hamilton didn't get a single power-play opportunity all weekend.
  • The Continentals are 7-0-2 in their last nine meetings with Conn. College.
  • Hamilton has four shutouts in its last six games.
  • The Continentals honored Sullivan, Berghammer, Sheridan, Katie Allen '26, Lydia Bullock '26, Grace Crowley '26, Mac Donovan '26, Cate Gallagher '26, Sophia Testa '26 and Lilly Truchon '26 during a senior recognition ceremony before the game.
