Women's soccer plays St. Lawrence to 1-1 draw in first meeting in 15 years

Yee '26 scored early in the second half for the Continentals on Senior Day

CLINTON N.Y. – Hamilton College's Jess Yee '26 scored in the 50th minute and helped the Continentals earn an intense 1-1 non-conference draw against the St. Lawrence University Saints on Senior Day at Hamilton's Love Field on a warm and sunny Sunday afternoon, Sept. 28.
 

Season Update

  • Hamilton (3-3-3 overall) is unbeaten in its last three matches.
  • St. Lawrence (4-3-3), which is 0-1-0 in the Liberty League, faced its last non-conference opponent for this season.
 

How it Happened

  • The Saints started the match with a goal in the ninth minute as Meredith Donahue scored an excellent long-range goal that found the bottom-left corner of the net.
  • Haley Cramer '28 almost scored in the 37th minute for the Continentals, with her close-range shot from the left side of the box just missing over the crossbar.
  • Almost five minutes into the second half, Ryan Manning '27 intercepted a St. Lawrence pass and crossed the ball into the box. Yee headed the ball over the goalkeeper and into the goal for the equalizer.
  • Hamilton had a chance to win in the 83rd minute, but Sarah Flood '27 had her close-range shot saved by Reagan Murphy.
 

Notes

  • Yee scored her first goal of this season and the second of her Hamilton career.
  • Manning registered her first assist since 2023.
  • Nieve Tonna '26 (four), who started in goal, and Olivia Connolly '27 (two in the second half) had a combined six saves.
  • The Continentals outshot the Saints 16-9 after St. Lawrence recorded the first seven shots.
  • This was the first match between St. Lawrence and Hamilton since 2010.
  • The Continentals honored Yee, Tonna, Daisy Sullivan '26, Maddie Ledbury '26, Taryn Gillis '26 and Evie McCreery '26 with a Senior Day ceremony before the match.
 

Next Match

Hamilton travels to play the Colby College Mules (4-1-3, 2-1-2 NESCAC) for a conference contest on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m.
