Women's soccer drops NESCAC match at Colby by 2-0 score

Continentals go for their second conference win this season at Bates on Sunday, Oct. 5

WATERVILLE, Maine – Colby College's Avery Barton and Abigail Jarvi scored the goals in the Mules' 2-0 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Colby's Serdjenian Field on Saturday, Oct. 4.
 

Season Update

  • Hamilton (3-4-3, 1-4-1 NESCAC) was unbeaten in its last three matches.
  • Colby (5-1-3, 3-1-2) is unbeaten in its last five matches.
 

How It Happened

  • Hamilton's Haley Cramer '28 recorded a shot on goal in the 12th minute.
  • In the 22nd minute Colby capitalized on a corner kick opportunity with a goal by Barton.
  • The Mules maintained their 1-0 lead heading into the half. They outshot the Continentals 11-3 in the first 45 minutes.
  • Lila Sullivan '29 put a shot on goal that was saved by Sadie Gardner in the 54th minute.
  • Jarvi ripped a shot from the middle just outside the penalty box that found the back of the net in the 64th minute.
  • Hamilton made one last push with three shots and three corners in the final 10 minutes, but could not score.
 

Notes

  • Colby outshot Hamilton 16-10, but the Continentals held a 6-4 edge in corners.
  • Jarvi scored her sixth goal of the season and Barton tallied her first for the Mules.
  • Nieve Tonna '26 came up with three saves for Hamilton.
 

Next Match

Hamilton looks to bounce back in another NESCAC matchup at Bates College (3-2-3, 0-2-2) on Sunday, Oct. 5 at noon.
