Continentals picked up their first NESCAC victory of the season

CLINTON N.Y. – Hamilton College's Griffin Weidner '26 scored in the 71st minute and the Continentals edged the Bowdoin College Polar Bears 1-0 in a heated NESCAC defensive battle at Hamilton's Love Field on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 27.

How it Happened

  • Right off the bat in the fourth minute for the Continentals, Zach Tracy '28 took a free kick that was deflected in the box and hit the post.
  • In the 34th minute, the Polar Bears' Max Cook had a great chance but Peter Montesano Scheibe '27 denied his effort with an excellent point-blank save.
  • With about 20 minutes left in the second half, Oliver Mylon '29 crossed the ball off a short corner and Weidner emphatically headed the ball into the net.
  • Bowdoin had a great chance to equalize in the 82nd minute, but Donovan Sinicropi sent the ball over the net from just a few yards away. The Polar Bears earned two corner kicks but no shots in the final three minutes.
