CLINTON N.Y. – The Hamilton College Continentals dominated from start to finish and came away with a 2-0 non-conference statement win against the nationally ranked Ithaca College Bombers at Hamilton's Love Field on a sunny and warm Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 30.
Season Update
- Hamilton (5-2-2 overall) extended its win streak to three matches and has won all four non-conference matchups this season.
- Nationally ranked No. 19 Ithaca (6-1-2), which had allowed just two goals in eight matches, suffered its first loss this year.
How it Happened
- The Continentals were relentless on offense with 25 shots, including 12 on target, and six corner kicks.
- Hamilton opened the scoring in the 24th minute. Jameson Mannix '26 played a ball into the box for Michael Hehir '28, who crossed the ball for Troy Miller '28 to smash a shot into the back of the net.
- In the 62nd minute Hamilton was on the counter-attack and Patrick Ferrare '27 played a short pass ahead to Zach Tracy '28. Tracy allowed a defender to fly past him and finished off the move with the goal that made the score 2-0.
- In the 88th minute Ferrare almost gave the Continentals a three-goal advantage, but his attempt was knocked away by the goalkeeper and off the post.
Notes
- The Continentals have defeated the Bombers by a 2-0 decision in each of the last four meetings.
- Miller scored his first goal of the season.
- Tracy has three goals in the last five matches.
- Tobin Walsh '29, who has two shutouts in three starts, made two saves.
- Ferrare recorded his second assist and leads the team with 10 points.
- Mannix picked up his second career assist and Hehir collected his first.
- Hamilton has allowed two goals, including one on a penalty kick, in six home matches.
- It was the Continentals' first win against a Top 25 opponent in three opportunities this season.
