Women's soccer plays to 2-2 draw at unbeaten Babson

Harvey '28 and Cramer '28 scored goals in the first 10 minutes for the Continentals

BABSON PARK, Mass. – Hamilton College's Haley Cramer '28 and Isabel Harvey '28 scored one goal apiece and the Continentals played the Babson College Beavers to a 2-2 non-conference draw at Babson's Hartwell-Rogers Field on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 21.

Season Update

  • Hamilton (2-3-2 overall) was playing its third match in five days. The Continentals were 1-1-1 during that span.
  • The Beavers (2-0-4) received votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches Division III Top 25 poll.

How It Happened

  • Hamilton dominated the action from the opening kick. In the sixth minute Lila Sullivan '29 made a short pass back to Maddie Buck '27 along the sideline on the left side. Buck immediately sent a long pass into the middle of the 18-yard box where Cramer put a diving header into the back of the net from about six yards out.
  • The Continentals made it 2-0 in the 10th minute. Sarah Flood '27 sent a pass ahead from around midfield to Harvey, who was sprinting up the right side. Harvey touched the ball once near the edge of the box and then delivered a perfect low shot with her right foot that snuck inside the left post.
  • Ally Clarkson cut Babson's deficit in half with a goal in the 38th minute.
  • Hamilton held a 12-4 shot advantage during the first 45 minutes.
  • Josie Lee added the equalizer for the Beavers in the 52nd minute on a pass from Izzy Lee.

  • Cramer recorded her first goal and first points this season.
  • Sullivan registered her first point at Hamilton.
  • Flood and Buck contributed their first assists this fall.
  • Olivia Connolly '27, who was making her second start in the last three matches, stopped two shots for the Continentals.
