Men's soccer drops 1-0 decision in NESCAC match at Tufts

Both teams had 13 shots, but the Jumbos scored the lone goal in the 79th minute

MEDFORD, Mass. – Tufts University's Ellis Denby scored a goal in the 79th minute and lifted the Jumbos to a 1-0 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Tufts' Bello Field on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 20.
 

Season Update

  • Hamilton (2-2-2, 0-2-2 NESCAC) has just two losses this season – both by 1-0 scores.
  • The Jumbos (4-1-1, 1-1-1) are unbeaten in their last four matches.
 

How It Happened

  • Denby scored the lone goal of the match with 11:28 left on a pass from Ben Ortman.
  • The Continentals managed one shot the rest of the way as William Fauth '29 took one that was off-target in the closing seconds.
  • In the seven minutes that preceded Tufts' goal, Hamilton racked up five shots and two corner kicks.

  • Oliver Mylon '29 recorded five of the Continentals' 13 shots.
  • Hamilton's Peter Montesano Scheibe '27 made five saves.
  • Nikola Antic stopped three shots and posted the shutout for the Jumbos.
