Flood '27 scored her first goal this season for the Continentals

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Hamilton College's Sarah Flood '27 scored a goal for the Continentals in their 1-1 NESCAC tie against the Wesleyan University Cardinals at Wesleyan's Jackson Field on Saturday, Sept. 13.
 

Season Update

  • Hamilton (1-2-1, 0-2-1 NESCAC) was coming off a decisive 3-1 victory at Oswego State on Sept. 9.
  • The 12th-ranked Cardinals (3-0-1, 0-0-1) remained unbeaten after their NESCAC opener.
 

How It Happened

  • Nieve Tonna '26 recorded five saves for the Continentals in a scoreless first half.
  • A left-footed shot by Flood found the side netting in the 57th minute and put Hamilton up 1-0.
  • With less than two minutes to play, Wesleyan earned a corner kick and found the equalizer on a looping header by Waverly Meyers.
 

Notes

  • Flood's goal was the fifth of her career and her first of the season.
  • Tonna finished with a season-high eight stops.
  • The Cardinals owned a 23-5 shot advantage.
  • The teams tied for the second time in their last four meetings.
