Continentals handed the Yellowjackets their first loss this season

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Morgan Clarke '28 made her shootout attempt in the ninth round and the Continentals edged the University of Rochester Yellowjackets 1-0 in a non-conference game at Rochester's Edwin Fauver Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Season Update

  • Nationally ranked No. 24 Hamilton (2-1 overall) went to a shootout for the second game in a row.
  • The 21st-ranked Yellowjackets (5-1) scored 12 goals in their first five games.

How It Happened

  • The teams went to a shootout after playing 60 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute overtime periods without scoring a goal.
  • Sammy Higgins '26 led off the shootout with a successful attempt for the Continentals. Isabelle Nahon '27 made her attempts in the fifth and sixth rounds, but Rochester's Cassidy Romano extended the shootout with the Yellowjackets' third make.
  • After both teams missed in the seventh and eighth rounds, Clarke put the ball into the back of the cage. Rochester's next attempt was unsuccessful, and Hamilton finally came away with the victory.
