HARTFORD, Conn. – Bowdoin College scored 15 runs on 25 hits and the Polar Bears swept the Hamilton College Continentals in a NESCAC doubleheader at the Trinity College Softball Field on Friday, May 2.
Season Update
- Hamilton (15-15, 6-10 NESCAC) has dropped four straight contests.
- The Polar Bears (19-17, 6-10) extended their win streak to five.
Game 1 (Bowdoin wins, 8-7)
How It Happened
- Bowdoin tied the score at 7-7 in the top of the seventh inning and set down the Continentals in order in the bottom half. The Polar Bears strung together three consecutive hits in the eighth and pushed across the go-ahead run. Hamilton went down in order in the bottom of the inning on three flyouts.
- The doubleheader was originally set for April 12 at Hamilton but was postponed due to rain. The first game was suspended with the Polar Bears leading 2-0 in the top of the second, a runner on first, and no outs.
- The teams started the day where they left off nearly three weeks ago and the score remained 2-0 until the fifth when Bowdoin used a three-run burst to take a 5-0 lead.
- The Continentals responded with three runs in the bottom half with the help of two throwing errors. Yael Everett '28 sparked the offense with a one-out single down the left field line, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a single to left by Miranda Mosqueda '28. With two runners in scoring position, Lydia Mirabito '26 hit a sharp grounder to third, and an off-line throw to first allowed both Mosqueda and Alexis Mayer '26 to cross the plate.
- The Polar Bears added a run in the sixth on a solo homer by Elisa Siciliano over the left field fence that made it 6-3
- Hamilton answered with its strongest inning of the game in the bottom half. Ella Heftved '25 sparked the four-run inning with a leadoff double to left-center, followed by a bunt single by Everett and a walk to Mosqueda that loaded the bases. Heftved came home on a wild pitch and Mayer '26 cleared the bases with a booming triple off the fence in left-center. Mayer scored on another wild pitch and gave the Continentals a 7-6 lead heading into the top of the seventh.

- Everett matched her career-high with three hits and scored two runs.
- Mosqueda had two hits, including her fourth double of the season. She also walked and scored twice.
- Heftved ripped her 17th career double and finished with two hits.
- Mayer tied the program record for most triples in a season with her seventh.
- Mirabito notched her 16th hit of the season.
- Reilly Parga paced Bowdoin's offense with three hits and two RBI.
- JK Bradley drove in a team-high three runs on two hits.
- Anika Ewert recorded two hits and scored three times, while Kyla Gary added two hits and crossed the plate twice.
- Kathleen Hester (6-8) allowed four runs on three hits, walked one, and struck out three over 3.2 innings of work.
Game 2 (Bowdoin wins, 7-4)
How It Happened
- The Polar Bears jumped out to a 4–0 lead with a run in the first and three more in the second.
- Hamilton responded with a run in the bottom of the second after back-to-back doubles by Mayer and Charlie Quinn '25 and two throwing errors.
- Bowdoin extended its lead to 7–1 with another three-run burst in the third.
- The Continentals chipped away with a run in the bottom half of the inning.
- After a scoreless fourth, Hamilton closed the gap in the fifth with two more runs. With one out and two runners in scoring position, Quinn drove in a run with a groundout, and Alison Zorn '26 followed with a hard-hit RBI single to third base.
- Bowdoin pitching stranded three runners in scoring position in the last two innings.

- Mayer led Hamilton at the plate with three hits, including her sixth double of the season.
- Quinn doubled twice and is tied for the team lead with six.
- Nikki Dyche '28 added her fourth double of the season.
- Sofia Santana '26, Mosqueda and Gaby Guerra '27 singled.
- Bowdoin tallied 15 hits led by Anika Ewert and Reilly Parga with three apiece.
- Siciliano and Rosie Panenka contributed two hits apiece to the offensive effort.
- Ellie Sullivan (4-0) allowed three earned runs in five innings, and Ava Biasotti earned her first save by tossing a scoreless sixth and seventh.
