ITHACA, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Aine Cleary '25 posted a career-high seven points, including her 100
th career goal, and the Continentals finished the season with a 17-11 non-conference win against the Ithaca College Bombers at Ithaca's Higgins Stadium on Tuesday evening, April 22.
Season Update
- Hamilton (6-8 overall) ended 2025 on a high note with three straight victories, including its first against a ranked team.
- The 21st-ranked Bombers (9-6) lost at home for the first time in seven games this spring.
How It Happened
- The Continentals scored twice in the opening four minutes and led the whole way. Hamilton held a 3-1 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
- Elizabeth Green pulled Ithaca within a goal 2:02 into the second quarter. The Bombers didn't score again for nearly 23 minutes.
- The Continentals ran off the next 10 goals and left little doubt about the final outcome. Hamilton led 9-2 at the half and 13-2 after Alex Orlando '25 scored with 6:48 left in the third quarter.
- The Continentals still held an eight-goal cushion at 13-5 after three quarters. Ithaca didn't get closer than six goals down the stretch.
- After the Bombers cut their deficit to six goals at 13-7 early in the fourth quarter, Hamilton ran off four of the next five for a 17-8 lead with 4:37 remaining and cruised the rest of the night.
Notes
- The Continentals boasted a season high with the 17 goals.
- Hamilton rebounded in a big way from its nine-goal setback against Ithaca at home last April.
- Cleary finished with three goals and a career-best four assists and ended up leading the team with 35 points. Her milestone goal came during a woman-up situation with 8:52 to go in the third quarter and gave the Continentals a 12-2 lead.
- Orlando notched four goals and added two assists for a career-high six points. She also caused two turnovers. Orlando led Hamilton with 25 goals this year.
- Julia Lee '27 scored three goals for the second consecutive game.
- Maddigan Leifer '26 found the back of the net twice and won a season-best seven draw controls.
- Eugenia Kaltsas '26 scored twice and registered her second multi-goal game.
- Sarah Creamer '26 and Sarah Stonestreet '25 contributed a goal and an assist apiece. Stonestreet topped the team with 17 helpers.
- Leyna Schlaefer '28 scored her sixth goal and scooped up three ground balls.
- Grace Martucci '28 collected a season-high four ground balls.
- Kat Showalter '26 came up with a career-best seven draw controls.
- Clara Paolucci '28 made four of her 10 saves in the first quarter.
- The Continentals held a 42-27 shot advantage.
- Lily Cody paced the Bombers' offense with three goals and four points. Green had three ground balls, Lexi Kellish won six draws and Mikaela Dattilo stopped 20 shots.
