CLINTON, N.Y. – SUNY Oneonta erupted for four runs in the fourth inning and the Red Dragons posted an 8-4 non-conference win over the Hamilton College Continentals at Hamilton's Loop Road Athletic Complex on Tuesday, April 1.
Season Update
- Hamilton (9-8 overall) played its home opener.
- The Red Dragons (12-6-1), who are 3-0 in the SUNYAC, are 8-1-1 in their last 10 contests.
How It Happened
- After a scoreless first inning, the Red Dragons took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning.
- After the Red Dragons left the bases loaded in each of the first two innings, the Continentals responded with two runs in the bottom of the second. Greg Kopp '25 launched a one-out double off the wall in right-center field and scored when Lucas Herman '26 singled into the gap in left center with two outs. Alfonso Rada '27 followed with a sharp double to right field that brought Herman home.
- Michael Tallarida '26 gave Hamilton a 3-1 advantage with a solo homer over the fence in right center in the third inning.
- Oneonta took the lead for good in the fourth inning at 5-3. The Red Dragons added two more in the fifth and another in the seventh and extended their advantage to 8-3.
- The Continentals scored their final run in the bottom half of the seventh. A leadoff double by Carter Chambers '25 and a sacrifice fly to left field by Gianni DiCerbo '27 cut the deficit to 8-4.

- Tallarida blasted his third home run of the season.
- Kopp smacked his 18th career double.
- Rada recorded his fourth double of the season while Chambers added his second.

- Henry Boehm '25 finished with a single and has hit safely in eight of his last nine games.
- TJ Takis '26 tallied two strikeouts in a strong third inning on the mound.
- Ryan Cronin led the Red Dragons with three hits and two runs batted in.
- Logan Hutter drove in a team-best three runs on a bases-clearing double.
- Joseph Monserrat finished with two hits, an RBI, a walk and a stolen base.
- Joey Dwyer crossed home plate twice, collected a hit, walked twice and stole four bases.
